That Swing Sensation are a group of Scottish musicians, brought together by saxophonist Jon Ritchie, who play live big band swing, jazz and dance music for weddings, dinners, festivals, functions all round Scotland.
Able to provide combos of 3-17 players the band is able to adapt to most
venues and prides itself on being able to put together a programme
that will be enjoyed by everyone whether their taste lies with big band,
swing, ballroom, jive or Rock and Roll.
The band performs every month at dances, weddings, festivals and functions in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr, Stirling and throughout Scotland in combinations from jazzy duets, through trios, quartets and quintets up to a full 17 piece big band.
Clients include: The BBC; Scottish Parliament, Historic Scotland; Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews Universities and hundreds of blushing brides, dashing grooms, dazzling dancers and event organisers:-)

• How big is the band
We can provide anything from solo instruments, through small combos of 3, 4, or 5 musicians up to the full band of 17 musicians. For special events and show we also perform with a variety of dance troupes and dance teachers.
• Where do you play
The band performs anywhere in Scotland and the North of England with regular performances in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr, St Andrews and Aberdeen.
• What do you play
We are primarily a swing dance band and the music features classics made famous by the likes of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack as well as more modern arrangements as used by Robbie Williams, Michael Buble and Paul Anka.
