Swing Sensation ... Plus
That Swing Sensation feel very lucky to be working with some of Scotland's most popular dance groups. This page shows just some of the events we enjoyed together.
The Fly Right Dance Company
The primary aim of The Fly Right Dance Company is to provide everyone with the chance to dance, no matter their age, location or social situation and to spread the word that dance (in all its forms) is a fantastic way to keep fit physically and mentally.
As well as some wonderful dance demonstrations, our work with Fly Right includes short lessons such as the the instant Charleston and, for those feeling a little less reckless, the more sedate Fifteen Minute Foxtrot.
During the year, events featuring Swing Sensation and the Fly Right Dance Company included the launch of the Remembering Scotland at War in Edinburgh Castle, VE Day Celebrations as part of Show Scotland, the annual Glasgow Show and a second Guinness World Tea Dance Record.
The Kennedy Cupcakes
The Kennedy Cupcakes, the 1940s and 50s inspired dance troupe, are fast becoming one of Scotland's best-known dance acts, headlining many nationally recognised events. The band is delighted to not only provide music for their exciting routines In addition to their dancing skills, the Cupcake's founder Lisa Kennedy and her sister Emma Dunlop have also joined the band as a singing duo.
The Swing Doctors
The Swing Doctors are Edinburgh-based swing dancers who dance old swing styles, like Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag, Balboa, Laminu etc.
They are the resident teachers at the Edinburgh University Swing Dance Society and often teach for ESDS and Dancebase. The Swing Doctors have recently added their special sparkle to events with the band in Fort George for Historic Scotland's Colossal Celebration of the Centuries and at Christmas events in Edinburgh's City Centre.
